Biographical Information
Dr. Julia Stearns Cloat is the Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the Freeport School District. She began her career as an elementary school teacher and has since served in a variety of roles, including Literacy Specialist, Instructional Coach, Curriculum Director, and Adjunct Professor. In her role in Freeport, Julia leads the work that primarily falls under the Core Commitment #1 of the 3-Year Strategic Plan: Academic Excellence. Goals under this Core Commitment includes standards-aligned curriculum and rigorous instruction.
Dr. Cloat enjoys spending time with her husband, Max, and her two adult children, Olivia and Alex. When she isn't working on the continuous improvement of teaching and learning in FSD145, you can find her outside hiking and camping.
Work Information
The Associate Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction provides leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the Freeport School District's curriculum, assessment, and instruction to ensure all areas are aligned with applicable laws and regulations.
