  • Overview

    FSD145 offers Art instruction to all students in grades K-4. Students typically attend one 50-minute art class each week. Students in grades 5-8 have the option to take Art as an elective. Freeport High School offers a number of elective Art classes beginning with Introduction to Design and culminating in Advanced Placement Art courses.

    FSD145 art teachers use the Art of Education University FLEX Curriculum as a resource to supplement instruction.  

Music

  • Overview

    FSD145 offers Music instruction to all students in grades K-4. Students typically attend two 25-minute music classes a week. Students in grades 5-8 have the option to take music as an elective and begin instrument lessons. Freeport High School offers a number of elective courses including Band, Choir, and Orchestra.

    Instruction

    Elementary Music classes use the McGraw-Hill Spotlight on Music program. There is not a purchased vendor curriculum for music at the middle or secondary level.
