Promoting Positive Behavior on the Bus
At Freeport School District, student and staff safety is our top priority—especially during transportation. To support a safe and respectful environment, the Transportation Department encourages positive behavior through constructive reinforcement.
Students have the opportunity to earn Bus Bucks or Pretzel Points (based on age) by demonstrating appropriate and respectful behavior while riding the bus to and from school. These rewards can be used at their school to “purchase” fun items of their choice!
Below are a few simple ways your child can earn Bus Bucks or Pretzel Points and help make every ride a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
POSITIVE ACTIONS
Polite – Keeping your hands to yourself, and showing others respect.
Objects – Keeping dangerous objects off the bus.
Safety – Remaining seated at all times and facing the front.
LIsten – Listening to directions.
Talk – Talking using appropiate language.
AIsles – Keeping the aisles clear.
Voice– Using an inside voice.
Excellence – Following expected behavior and keeping the buses clean.
