We’re excited to announce our redesigned employee wellness program for the 2018-19 school year running September 1, 2018, until June 1, 2019.
If you are an employee of FSD145 who is insured under the Freeport School District Healthcare plan at the Gold, Silver or Bronze level, you qualify to participate! We have partnered with Team Tree Wellness of Rockford to facilitate this new wellness program. We, along with Team Tree, believe that in order to impact our community and make a difference a collaboration between employers, the community, and health and wellness providers must exist.
A few of the changes you will see with this new plan:
- Biometric Screenings - Every person who is enrolled in FSD healthcare coverage qualifies for a confidential biometric screening. These screenings took place during Fall 2018 on-site at many of our district locations.
- Elective Wellness Enhancing activities will be held throughout the year such as seminars, challenges, health fair, etc.
- Incentive prizes will be awarded for participation beyond the initial screening.
- A goal of being recognized by the American Heart Association as a “heart healthy” school district has been established.
Our employee wellness program is designed to encourage a healthy, active lifestyle which thereby reduces risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, hypertension and many other illnesses. If we work together, we can create a culture of wellness and lead by example to our students and the Freeport community.
