At its regular meeting on June 4, 2019, the Freeport School District Board of Education:
● Appointed Dr. Anna Alvarado as the district’s next Superintendent. Dr. Alvarado will begin her new role on July 1, 2019, with a base salary of $180,000 and a three-year contract. (Additional contact: Janice Crutchfield, Board of Education President, email@example.com)

● Considered proposals to adopt new curriculum or instructional materials in several areas, including the Amplify Science Program for K-5 Science, Pearson’s myWorld Interactive for K-5 Social Studies, and new materials for High School Statistics. Also proposed was a new High School Transitional Math course through a partnership of Freeport High School and Highland Community College.
