McKinney Vento

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act ensures the educational rights and protections of homeless children and youth due to the lack of an adequate alternative so that they may enroll in school, attend regularly and be successful.

The main goal of the McKinney -Vento Homeless Assistance Act is to provide homeless students the same educational opportunities as house students by removing as many barriers to learning for homeless students as possible. In 2018-19, FSD had a total of 90 M-V students; in 2022-23 we have 237.
