ELA Curriculum Proposal

Since January of 2022, the K-12 English Language Arts (ELA) Committee has worked to facilitate the development of clear, consistent, coherent, and articulated curriculums that are to be implemented uniformly and equitably across all schools.

The ultimate goal of the curriculum review process is to develop instructional systems and curricula that are innovative, inclusive, and student-centered, ultimately ensuring that all students are equipped and empowered to choose their college, career path, and become  productive members of their community.

Through a rigorous process the K-12 ELA Committee reviewed student data, created a needs assessment, and developed a philosophical approach to literacy instruction in FSD145. Grade-level sub-committees reviewed curricular resources and came to a consensus about materials to recommend to the FSD145 School Board of Education for the next adoption cycle.
