Freeport Middle School instituted a soft lock down May 15th strictly as a precautionary measure, following an unfounded rumor on May 14th. There were no incidents and at no time were students in any danger. We appreciate your concern for the well-being of all students.

New Immunization Requirement for ALL 6th-12th grade students
To combat the rise of pertussis (whooping cough), for the 2013-2014 school year, the state of Illinois is expanding its prevention efforts and requiring ALL sixth-through-twelfth grade students to receive a Tdap booster vaccination. Students must either show proof of having received the vaccination, must have an appointment to get the vaccine,or have an approved medical or religious exemption on file.
