Update to FSD Uniformity of Dress Policy

At two meetings in May, the Freeport School District Board of Education approved proposals to revise the district’s uniform policy for next school year.

Though many standards of the policy remain the same as previously, the following items are among the changes or clarifications approved by the Board that will be applied when students return for the 2018-2019 school year:

  • Students can wear any solid color polo shirt.
  • Spirit t-shirts or sweatshirts (Pretzel or school specific) can be worn any day with uniform pants.
  • Any color leggings or tights can be worn. These must be under a skirt or dress. Leggings cannot be worn alone.
  • Solid color fleece, sweaters or sweatshirts (crew or hood) can be worn.

The rest of the newly approved policy may be viewed in full at the following links:

The Board’s decision follows a committee’s review of the uniformity of dress policy.
