About SITE (Students in Transitional Education)

  • SITE (Students in Transitional Education) is a program of the Freeport School District offered through a referal process to students in 5th - 12th grade. SITE is a program within a school - students cannot graduate high school from SITE. The goal of the program is to support the student to learn missing skills affecting their success in the home school and return them to the home school.  SITE focuses on three areas: grades, behaviors, and attendance. Some students do transfer to Freeport Alternative High School once they are 17 years old.
